WHAT: Hailo, the world’s fastest-growing and largest app-based taxi service that recently launched in Boston, is offering a $20.12 discount per customer off taxi fares hailed through the app on Election Day.  With the code VOTEHAILO, current and new Hailo users can celebrate this important day with a discounted taxi ride, making it easier and more convenient to travel to the polls and cast their votes.

Once users download the app and register their credit card, using the promo code is easy – just tap the Account icon in the top left corner, tap Hailo Credits, enter the promo code, and tap “Done” on iPhone or “Submit” on Android phones.  The credit will then be automatically applied to the customer’s next Hailo ride. 

Here’s how Hailo works – users pull up the app, and Hailo finds their current location using GPS.  Currently available and nearby Hailo cabs are shown on the map as yellow taxis, and an estimated wait time is shown at the top of the screen.  Users tap “Pick Me Up Here,” and the nearest available taxi is confirmed and booked.  Users then watch the taxi arrive in real time on the map, then pay through the credit card they’ve registered in the app.  A receipt is emailed immediately.
