Restaurant Broken Into on Mass. Ave.

Police say cash was stolen from Bangkok City on Saturday night.

A small chinese restaurant on Massachusetts Avenue was broken into on Saturday night, according to the Boston Police Department.

Officers responded to an alarm at Bangkok City, located at 167 Massachusetts Ave. at 12:13 a.m. on Saturday.

Upon arrival, police spoke with the family who owns the restaurant. They told police that they had locked the front door at about 11:55 p.m.. Twenty minutes later, the alarm went off, they said.

Officers said that on the front doors to the restaurant, a lock had been popped open. Police searched the interior and found no one inside, they said. The only item missing was the cashier box from the hostess area with approximately $90 in small bills and change, according to the owners. 

The owner agreed to give officers the security tapes for further review. An investigation is ongoing.
