Faneuil Hall Marketplace Hosts Street Performer Auditions

Faneuil Hall Marketplace Merchants Association will host its Street Performer Auditions Saturday, May 3rd from 11am-2pm outside in the West End and South Market areas of the Marketplace.  The auditions are open to the public and will be hosted by Magic 106.7FM DJ, Chris Shine, and Mitch Stinson, Comedian from Dick Doherty’s Comedy Den.  The auditions will be judged by Sue Farrell, wife of Red Sox Manager John Farrell and Lindsay Buchholz, wife of Red Sox Player Clay Buchholz. The auditions will feature talented acts from contortionists, to acrobats, to musicians as they strive for a spot alongside the world class street performers of the Street Theater program.

“We are very excited to add some new talent to our Street Theater,” said Carol Troxell, President of Faneuil Hall Merchants Association. “Street Performers are such an integral part of Faneuil Hall, so we are eager to bring new and diverse acts to the Faneuil Hall experience. The Street Performer auditions are always a great time, visitors get to watch a variety of acts with both current performers and newcomers.”

The Street Theater is a unique and historical part of Faneuil Hall. Street Performers have entertained at the Marketplace since 1976, when Faneuil Hall first opened to the public. Daily shows still continue across the Marketplace including free concerts, magic and comedy shows, and many other talented acts.
