Speed May be Cause of Monday's Green Line Train Derailment

The first of a two-car D train derailed and struck a wall Monday afternoon, sending 10 to the hospital.

Speed may have been a factor in a train derailment on the MBTA's Green Line that sent nearly a dozen to the hospital on Monday to be treated for neck and back injuries, MyFoxBoston reported

Though an official cause of the derailment has not been released, investigators believe speed was a contributing factor in the crash that occurred just west of the Kenmore Station area, according to the report.

Buses were deployed to the area to assist riders Monday afternoon, and normal service was restored just after 5 a.m. Tuesday, according to the report.
