There will be a party in the street on Huntington Avenue on Sunday.

Huntington Avenue's outbound lane, from Belvidere Street to Brigham Circle, will close for traffic and open for pedestrians, cyclists and fitness events on Sunday, July 14.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the "Circle the City" event aims to provide car-free spaces and promote a healthy lifestyle with more than 50 free activities. Attractions will include a kid's zone, yoga classes, walking tours and a rock climbing wall.

“I hope our residents will take advantage of the opportunity to walk, bike, skate and play together on car-free streets,” Mayor Thomas Menino said. "I’m looking forward to a second year of transforming our streets for Boston residents to get out and get active."

For MBTA #39 bus riders, outbound service will be diverted to Columbus Avenue in the following route: from the Back Bay Station on the regular route to Saint James Avenue, then left around the Westin Hotel, right at Dartmouth Street, right on Columbus Avenue, right on Tremont Street, right on Tremont Street at Roxbury Crossing, and left on Huntington Avenue to the regular route.
