Fenway Center Project Tied Up at Transportation Board
The project will not move forward until the next meeting on June 19th.
The $500 million Fenway Center project that would turn several parking lots into a 1.3 million square foot mixed development has hit a snag during the approval process with the state's Department of Transportation board.
The vote on the developer's air-rights lease with the state to build over the Mass Pike has been tabled until June 19th as two board members have requested more information before making a decision.
“In all deference to the entire board, it’s a very big project and that’s why I thought all the board members would be briefed in advance,” developer John Rosenthal told the Boston Globe. “Unfortunately a few of them hadn’t been and therefore had legitimate questions that needed to be answered.”
