Comm. Ave in Allston Closed for Free Aerosmith Concert on Monday

Commonwealth Avenue will be closed and Green Line service will be suspended in Allston on Monday morning/afternoon.

If you were planning a trip along Commonwealth Avenue on Monday, think again. 

Commonwealth Avenue from Parkard's Corner to Allston Street will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. to host a free Aerosmith concert at noon, according to the Boston Globe. 

The noon concert will be held outside of 1325 Commonwealth Avenue, an apartment in which the band got its start in Boston.

Detours will re-route cars to Brighton Avenue. There will also be parking restrictions in the area from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For MBTA commuters, the Green "B" Line won't run from Washington Street to Packard's Corner from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Alternative routes would be the "C" line or the 57 bus from Kenmore Station.

The band's new album, "Music from Another Dimension" will be released the next day, on Nov. 6. The band is holding the concert on the 5th to help encourage people to vote in Tuesday's election.
