Happy's Bar & Kitchen Shut Down for Renovations, Will Re-Open as Mexican Restaurant

After just eight months open, the new restaurant is closing to re-open with a "new concept."

Although it opened less than a year ago, Happy's Bar & Kitchen on Boylston Street has closed its doors and won't re-open until February, when it will be a different restaurant, according to the Boston Business Journal

Chef and restaurateur posted Michael Schlow posted on Craigslist seeking new staff to take over the new restaurant which will re-open in February.

"“New restaurant concept opening @ 1363 Boylston Street (that is the old Happy space). Michael Schlow is looking for all new front of the house staff.”

Happy's menu served a wide variety of items including breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night fare. Restaurant Industry blog Chowder of Boston Magazine reports the new menu will feature more of a Mexican theme, with tacos, margaritas and quesadillas, and that the restaurant will be completely renovated.

“Based on all of the feedback and information we have been getting from customers, this was a concept that was very much wanted and would be supported by the neighborhood,” Schlow told Chowder.
