Police: Man Arrested With Bath Salts, Meth in Kenmore Square

Boston Police arrested a Wakefield man on Friday on Beacon Street for alleged possession of meth and bath salts.

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions. 

Boston Police charged a Wakefield man with possession of extremely dangerous drugs in Kenmore Square. 

Officers were on patrol of the Kenmore Square area at about 8:30 a.m. on June 28, when they recognized a man with three active arrest warrants, according to police reports.

Officers entered 660 Beacon Street and approached the man, who attempted to flee. After a brief struggle, officers detained the suspect and transferred him to Boston University Police Department headquarters.

While searching the suspect, officers reported finding a plastic bag containing 15 grams of methamphetamine. Officers also found three bags with 20 grams of bath salts.

While in custody, the suspect began convulsing and was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for a medical and psychological evaluation.

After being released, the suspect was transported to Boston Police Headquarters. 

Officers charged Jonathan Bermudes of 7 Wiley Street, Wakefield with possession of a Class A substance with intent to distribute.
