The entire Red Sox roster surprised patients at Fenway.

The 11th annual Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon ended early this morning. The unofficial total for donations raised was $3.2 million at 12:20 a.m.

All of the money raised in the 36-hour radio-telethon will go towards cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Patch will have the official total by noon today.

At about 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, the scene around the WEEI and NESN studios at Gate C at Fenway Park became hectic. Something clearly was about to happen, given the level of frenzy from ballpark staff and event organizers.
