Weekend End of Line E Branch T Service To Stay

After a brief period without it, the MBTA has brought back weekend E branch trolley service permanently.

Weekend riders who use the last five stops of the MBTA’s E branch trolley service on the Green Line will be happy to know it’s here to stay.

The MBTA reinstated weeked trolley service along the entire E branch for good after getting rid of service between Brigham Circle and the end of the line Heath Street station last July 1 and then quietly returning it last October, according to Boston.com Thursday.

During the nearly four-month span, the E branch provided service between only Lechmere and Brigham Circle stations on weekends, the site reported.

MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo told Boston.com it was an experiment to test whether the trains would get too crowded if traveling past Brigham Circle on weekends.
