The Wentworth Community Task Force will meet on Tuesday.

Wentworth Institute of Technology announced last week it will build a new on-campus residence hall.

The new dorm will house 305 students inside 71 apartments, and include areas for common hangout and work spaces and bicycle storage.

Nearly $70 million in tax-exempt bonds from MassDevelopment, according to a statement.

“The opportunity to live on-campus has a direct positive impact on students’ academic success as well as on the quality of their lives,” said Wentworth President Zorica Pantic in a statement. “MassDevelopment has played a key role in further growing our residential campus, allowing Wentworth to provide attractive housing options for junior and senior students.”

The project is expected to create more than 450 construction jobs and five permanent staff positions.
