UPDATED: Body Found in Charles River Monday, Not Missing Boston Grad Student

The body of an adult male was recovered from the Charles River early on Monday morning.

A body was found in the Charles River early on Monday morning, according to state police.

Police said the body of an adult male was found in the Charles River near 347 Bay State Road. Police are currently working to recover the body from the water.

No identification has been made yet, but a spokesperson from the Suffolk District Attorney's office said that a preliminary examination of the remains indicates the body is not one of a missing Boston Architectural College graduate student.

Two employees of the Boston University sailing pavilion spotted the body in the water near the BU Bridge just after 8 a.m. They notified Boston University police, who in turn notified State Police. The remains were transported by boat to the State Police Marine Unit for processing.

Police said the cause of death was not immediately apparent.
