Man Charged With Assault and Battery on Fenway Street

A Fenway resident was arrested for allegedly punching a woman in the head.

A Fenway man was arrested for allegedly punching a woman in a Fenway Street apartment on Wednesday afternoon.

Boston Police officers responded to a radio call for a fight in 66 Fenway Street at 12:10 p.m. on October 31. An officer spoke with the victim, who claimed that a man had been living with her for about a month. 

The woman told police she had asked the man to leave a couple of days ago. When no progress was made on this front, she said packed up his belongings. An argument broke out, which escalated into a physical fight, the woman said. The woman told police officers that when she walked into the common hallway of the apartment, the suspect punched her in the head with a closed fist. Officers said they observed a bump on the victim’s head.

A witness stated that while he didn’t see anything, he heard what sounded like a physical altercation in the hallway. The suspect denied their argument had escalated into a physical fight. Gerald Wright of 650 Huntington Avenue was arrested and charged with assault and battery.
