Police: Shoplifter from Shaw's Arrested on Drug Charges

A woman accused of shoplifting from the Fenway Shaw's for shoplifting was arrested on an outstanding warrant for allegedly dealing crack cocaine.

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions.

Boston Police arrested a woman accused of shoplifting from the Fenway Shaws this week, but not on shoplifting charges. The woman allegedly had an outstanding warrant for dealing crack cocaine, police said. 

Police responded to a report of a shoplifter at the Shaw’s Supermarket at 33 Kilmarnock St. on Monday night at 2:52 p.m.

The suspect, Emelyn Pena, of 21 Concord Square, had an outstanding default warrant out of Boston District Court for possession of a Class B substance, according to police.    

On Friday, July 20, 2012, officers had arrested Pena near 160 East Springfield Street. Officers said they watched two individuals exchange something concealed in a paper fold for something in a paper bag. Upon a search, police said they found crack cocaine on Pena.  She was charged with possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute.
