Police: Man Tried to Buy Computer with Stolen Credit Card in Fenway

Police are looking for a man who tried to buy a $1,700 MacBook Pro at Best Buy with someone else's credit card.

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate a conviction. 

A man tried to use a stolen credit card to buy a laptop at the Fenway Best Buy on Monday. 

Boston Police responded for a report of a larceny at the Best Buy at 401 Park Drive at about 11:57 a.m. on June 3rd.

An employee told police that a customer had tried to purchase a MacBook Pro valued at $1,700 with someone else’s credit card.

The rep described the suspect as a black male in his 40s with a bald or shaved head, wearing a white tank top and blue shorts. The employee told police that the man clearly smelled of alcohol.

The employee told police that the suspect had used a white Visa card to pay for the computer. The rep told police that they asked for the man’s identification and the suspect said that it was in the visor of his car and said he would be back. The suspect never returned.

The suspect had multiple cards with the same false name on them in his wallet. 

Boston Police said the incident is still under investigation.
