Police: Northeastern Student Robbed at Knifepoint

A female student was robbed near the Back Bay Fens last week. Police arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the attack.

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions.

Police arrested two minors on June 6 for allegedly robbing a Northeastern student near the Back Bay Fens. 

At about 2:35 a.m. on June 6, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery near 80 Fenway.

Officers arrived on the scene and talked to the victim, a woman who was visibly upset, according to police. She told police that she was walking home when the two suspects came up behind her, put a knife to her back and pulled her hair. The first suspect tried to take her shoulder bag off, while the second suspect began digging through the bag, according to the victim. 

The victim said she pleaded with the suspects, asking them to leave her keys and her phone. The victim said the suspects began berating her, but they returned the victim’s phone and keys, saying that they were no good to them. The suspects fled down an alleyway adjacent to the building with the victim’s bag, which contained two cans of beers, $6, and a Northeastern ID card, according to the victim.

Northeastern Police stopped the two suspects near Huntington Avenue and Forsythe Street. Officers recovered a folding knife from one of the suspects. The victim identified the suspects, who are both minors. Officers were able to recover the victim’s personal belongings.

The two minors were charged with robbery with a knife.
