Police Seize Nine Bags of Marijuanna, Arrest Fenway Man

Boston Police arrested a Fenway man on Hemmenway Street on Wednesday.

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions.

Boston Police arrested a Fenway man on Wednesday on a warrant for possession of marijuana.

The warrant was out of Boston Municipal Court for an instance from January 5, 2012, when Boston police officers conducted a drug investigation in the area of the William E. Carter School at 396 Northampton Street.

While conducting this investigation, officers observed a man on his cell phone looking around suspiciously, they said. 

When officers begain following the suspect, he reportedly began running on Gainsborough Street towards Huntington Avenue, then down an alleyway. Officers followed the suspect in an unmarked car.

When officers exited the unmarked car at the edge of the alleyway and identified themselves, the suspect began running. After a brief chase, officers were able to catch up to the suspect.

Police identified the man as Walter Horsley, of 15 Hemenway St. Police said they removed two plastic bags of marijuana from the suspect’s hand, and nine separate bags of marijuana from his coat. The suspect reportedly told police he sells marijuana to support himself because he is unemployed, according to the police report.
