Man Charged with Stealing Groceries From Fenway Shaw's

Boston Police arrested a man they say walked out of the Fenway Shaw's with a cart full of stolen groeries. 

Boston Police responded to a radio call for a shoplifter at the Shaw’s Market on 33 Kilmarnock Street at 3:13 a.m. on October 23.

A Shaw's official told police a man in his mid 40’s left the store with a shopping cart full of groceries without paying for any of the items. The loss prevention officer said the man left with a woman in a grey Dodge Stratus.

Boston Police Officers located the vehicle of the corner of West Fifth Street and F Street. Officers said they found a trunk full of groceries when they searched the car. The suspect said that he had taken the goods because he was going through hard times and that the woman had nothing to do with the theft.

The woman stated that she thought the suspect had paid for the groceries and had no idea they might be stolen.

The groceries were returned to Shaw’s and the suspect was escorted to the station for booking. Mark Bourglas of 214 West Fifth Street, South Boston was charged with shoplifting.
