This has not been a good year for our beloved Sox, sports fans. The bad old days seem to be back. Is this the dawning of the Cure of Chicken and Beer? Has the magic of being the consummate underdog deteriorated into mediocrity?

Someone please put this into perspective for all of the perplexed Sox fans out there in the solemn Red Sox Nation.

Sox CEO Larry Lucchino said Valentine wouldn’t be fire this season. How does that sit with you? Allegedly, as many as 17 players held a meeting and voiced their displeasure with their skipper, some even advocated for a mutiny.

The Bronx Bombers beat down the Sox on Friday night, making one ugly stat a brutal reality: The Sox have not won back-to-back games in August. Take a moment to reflect on that.
